The Role
The Core Test Engineering Technology (CTET) team is responsible for the design and development of full-stack manufacturing test solutions that support the mass production of Teslas cell, vehicle, and energy products. We are a team of electrical, mechanical, and software engineers working together to build the machine that builds the machine. The electrical arm of CTET delivers measurement/sensor technology PCB designs, electrical assembly/cabinet designs and highly integrated electromechanical systems.
Responsibilities
End to end ownership from preliminary proposal to validated and deployed system: specification, architecture, simulation, schematic capture, PCB layout, board bring-up, board validation, and system validation.
Collaborate with external stake holders to develop test specifications as defined from product specifications.
Collaborate with internal teams to define mechanical, electrical, and software constraints.
Support factory acceptance trials and site acceptance trails.
Design electrical cabinet schematics and panel layout and spec components, devices, and interconnection with full system design in mind
Requirements
Currently working towards a BS, MS, or advanced degree in a relevant engineering program such as Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering Altium Designer (or equivalent) experience: schematic, layout, component creation/library management
Strong understanding of signal integrity and electromagnetic compatibility
Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design
Exceptional troubleshooting and debug skills
Exceptional understanding of test and measurement equipment
Strong desire to push the status quo and think outside of the box
Strong desire to work in a lab with your hands (prototyping, soldering, building)
