Surveying Assistant Superintendent

Under the daily guidance of the Surveying Field Operations Manager the Surveying Assistant Superintendent will be responsible for implementing through multiple crews the over-all surveying schedule, execution plan, safety plan & QA/QC plan as set by the Surveying Field Operations Manager & project management teams for all RES Solar, T&D & Preconstruction projects.
The Surveying Assistant Superintendent coordinates all site surveying activities as required to successfully complete the surveying project on schedule and within budget. They will actively communicate with the offsite Surveying Field Operations Manager & the onsite project management team to ensure RES surveying & onsite expectations are being met. They will be mentored and provided daily support from the Surveying Field Operations Manager where necessary to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to be able to work more autonomously in the future as a Surveying Superintendent.

Supports the surveying site team in technical, quality and safety, utilizing systems in place.
Ensures surveying employees are adhering to the company safety policy.
Promotes job site safety, encourages safe work practices and rectifies job site hazards immediately.
Client Relationship and Management:
Provides excellence in the management and delivery of the project, in-line with the clients expectations.
Maintains positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and other employees.
Manages surveying project expectations, concerns and Right of Way access.
Provides information about surveying activities across all RES Solar, T&D & Preconstruction projects including construction staking, TOPOs, pile pinning, surface comparisons, surveying production rates, as-builts, all general onsite data capturing to the project management team & Surveying Operations Manager.
Schedules and ensures appropriate staffing for surveying activities.
Identifies potential schedule changes, workflow, and staffing issues as it relates to surveying.
Directs, guides, and coaches Surveying Foremen to ensure surveying activities on site are understood and are following established processes through quality checks as expected by the project management teams
Follows processes for systems and communication lines across all RES Solar, T&D & Preconstruction projects and ensure implementation is consistent.
Assists project management with managing surveying site personnel.
Fosters a culture of continuous improvement.
Ensures that multiple surveying teams are utilizing Safety Management Systems (SMS), Quality Managements Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and technical procedures as they relate to surveying.
Identifies and mitigates potential surveying employee relations issues.
Subject Matter Expert to help resolve onsite surveying issues with the project management team.

Detailed functionality of Trimble surveying equipment
How control points are used & checked
Conducting survey grade TOPOs utilizing standard surveying & UAV equipment
Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Trimble Business Center
DJI flight controls
Intermediate Level of Knowledge in:
Implementation of surveying project schedules
Understanding surveying budget Analysis and controls
Understanding of surveying estimating work efforts
Implementation of surveying QA/QC processes
Implementation of surveying processes and procedures
Implementation of Surveying Quality Management
Basic level of knowledge in:
Fleet & Equipment management of surveying equipment & trucks
At least 5 years of experience working in a construction environment.
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
Organization: Utilizes strong organizational skills.
Communication: Displays strong written and oral communication skills and employs effective listening skills.
Problem Solving: Analyzes problems and makes sound decisions in a
timely manner based on objectives, risks, implications and costs.
Interpersonal Skills: Tactful and mature demeanor with well developed
interpersonal skills including the ability to work well with diverse personalities
Part 107 License
Travel Expectations: 25%-50%

Construction site environment includes planning, auditing through finished project. Travel with driving to remote sites along with office work in field conditions is also included.

Anticipated base salary range: $78,000 - $95,000
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. This position is bonus eligible.
