About this role:
The Portfolio Manager (Commodities Underwriter) will primarily support the Commodity Linked Finance Desk to underwrite and diligence counterparties and service providers that are not currently supported by a Wells Fargo Lending LOB, as well as structured financing transactions. Primary underwriting responsibilities include: modeling financial projections; performing financial and/or collateral analysis; performing industry analysis; and drafting underwriting memorandums.
In addition, the Portfolio Manager will also have primary responsibility for managing the CLF counterparty portfolio by: (1) coordinating and monitoring the customer onboarding and document negotiation process for physical and financial trading customers; (2) monitoring trading limits and tenors; (3) providing periodic reviews of the portfolio to senior management, risk partners and other stakeholders; and (4) monitoring physical commodity property tax assessments.
In this role, you will:
Required Qualifications, US:
5+ years credit underwriting experience
5+ years of experience in the commodity industry
Experience analyzing financial statements
Ability to assess a company's industry and competition
Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Excel, and Word
Ability to communicate effectively though verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills, and multi task completion orientation
Oriented toward a fast paced deal driven environment
Preferred Qualifications
