Accountant – Melbourne (Property Development)

- Leading Property Developer; sector agnostic investment & development. - Month-end closure procedures, preparing & posting journals, reconciliations. - Property/Real Estate or Construction market experienced required.A leading Property Investment and Development business, currently seek an Accountant to join the team in Melbourne. This individual will perform a range of tasks, including month-end close procedures and preparation of account reconciliations & financials.
Partner with the Property Manager to ensure accuracy of journal entries and general ledgerPerform / Manage treasury functions.Assist in the annual plan/budget preparation process by preparing revenue projections and variance analysis for certain accounts.Perform Statutory Obligations.Manage Project reported positions to ensure compliance with AASB / IFRS, and alignment to JV agreements & Deeds.As a key player in the accounting (including Treasury function) process, recommend how to improve efficiency around month-end close and day to day finance operations.Assist throughout the half-year and year-end audit processes through providing necessary support, answering queries, and assisting with financial statement preparation.Work on ad-hoc projects alongside the wider finance team.Act as the gatekeeper for all financial and contract aspects related to projects.Handle Oracle (JD Edwards) reporting functionality by building reports.Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements include:
Bachelors degree in Commerce (Accounting & Finance) from an accredited institution and working towards CPA/CA.Three or more years of experience in similar roles within the real-estate and construction industry required.A solid knowledge of fundamental accounting concepts and standards (IFRS /AASB).Strong communication and collaboration skills.Analytical capability with strengths in identifying and implementing continuous improvement.Strong contract management knowledge as well as strong understanding of project costing.Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office, including intermediate to advanced Excel skills.Oracle & JD Edwards.$75,000 $85,000, including Super + additional bonus.
