The Role: Product Specialist, Securities Finance
The Securities Finance team is comprised of subject matter experts in securities lending, equities, fixed income and ETFs, dedicated to providing a range of Stock Loan and Short Selling data products and services.
The Product team works closely with our Sales, Operations, and Business Development teams to ensure we exceed our customers expectations and deliver a first-class service.
Securities Finance (SF) is a heritage IHS Markit product with provides customers with data and analytics to manage securities lending programs, optimize trading performance and enhance investment decision making. We offer performance analysis of securities lending programs, insight into market sentiment and trading transparency from a macro to individual stock level perspective. Our data is sourced directly from leading industry practitioners including prime brokers, custodians, asset managers and hedge funds. We cover over $35 trillion global securities in lending programs of over 20,000 institutional funds, including more than 3.5 million daily transactions dating back 15 years. Data is delivered via a variety of channels including web applications, Excel add-in, data feed and third-party vendors such as Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters, FactSet and S&P Capital IQ.
Independent from our data services, we also provide a range of consultancy services via IHS Markit Securities Finance Consulting. Our consultancy practice leverages IHS Markits extensive data capabilities coupled with subject matter expertise to provide our clients with unparalleled insight. We have worked with the vast majority of the asset managers/securities lenders in a variety of engagements such as qualitative and quantitative program reviews, performance and risk analysis, revenue estimate evaluations, indemnification valuations, fee split analysis and more.
You will be a key member of the APAC Securities Finance team. Reporting to the head of APAC Securities Finance product, you will support a team of Product Specialists manage clients to optimize the value of our products and services.
Key responsibilities include:
Analysing our existing clients to identify usage trends and identify opportunities to enhance or expand the client experience
Assisting with client reporting, news and research production through data analysis, security level presentations, and written reports and scripts
Weekly Market Monitor
Social media posts
Client Quarterly Reports
League table distribution
Preparing analysis to support product solutions to address new and changing user requests
Assist our product specialists and customer care team
What Were Looking For:
You are a versatile, analytical thinker who likes a balance between tactical and strategic responsibilities. You enjoy interacting with clients and colleagues and can also work independently. You maintain an interest in financial markets and perhaps know something about the securities finance sector.
Key Qualifications and Skills:
Ability to think critically and solve complex problems
Comfortable preparing written correspondence for social media
Proficient excel skills are highly regarded and knowledge of excel Add-ins useful
Some experience in SQL and handling big datasets
The role is expected to expand to include client engagement, so you will need to be comfortable with client engagement both virtually and in person
Some knowledge of the securities lending market would be useful but not essential, however, an interest in financial markets is essential
