Our Finance team within our Corporate Service division is seeking to appoint a Financial Analyst until December 2022 to collaborate across our diverse cluster to provide financial management information and advice on financial performance, risks and opportunities across the group.
This role will be involved in the annual budgeting process, analysing data, and providing insights and presentations to peers and senior executives.
Responsibilities will range from:
Supporting the team in the annual budget process, working closely with both internal and external stakeholders, and coordinating responses to requests for information on financial data from Senior Executives and NSW Treasury.
Collaboratively developing and implementing policies and procedures to promote world class financial management and stewardship, concurrently maintaining a sound understanding of the functions of Government, NSW Treasury Circulars and Treasurers Directions, Government Sector Finance Act 2018, and the Clusters policies and procedures.
Liaising with other teams within Cluster Finance and Group Finance to provide structure and feedback related to the adequacy of financial systems and reporting processes.
To be a success in this role, it is highly preferred that you have:
A high attention to detail and/or the eagerness to understand the numbers from a Cluster-wide context.
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to clearly and concisely convey messages to a range of audiences within a timely manner.
Ability to independently manage and deliver tasks on time.
Advanced MS excel skills and experience in complex reporting.
Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce, or similar discipline, and full membership of Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) Australia or the Chartered Accountants Australia New Zealand (CAANZ).
