Programme Manager

We are forming a select group of seasoned programme managers to lead and direct the most complex projects across Thaless diverse defence, security and civil sectors in Australia and abroad.

About Your Role

This full time permanent Program Manager role is part of our corporate Project Management team servicing major projects and bids across Thales Australia. Partnering with different business units, you will be using your experience and expertise to lead a variety of complex projects through their most challenging phases.
Anticipating project complexity and leading organisations and customers through challenging project phases.
Systematically guiding teams through the project mobilisation phase with detailed planning to ensure the critical acceptance and delivery phases have the best chance of success.
Directing project remediation activities and establishing well defined get-well plans with robust transition strategies.
Leadership and management of large teams of internal employees, subcontractors and partners, aligning them around shared vision and objectives, anticipating workload and future skills requirements, building capability and ensuring optimal delivery and performance
Promoting One Thales behavioural culture, fostering teamwork and collaboration with other parts of Thales that are related or involved in the portfolio.
Strategic management of stakeholders and associated communications both external and internal in order to enhance business reputation.
Building and maintaining an open, collaborative and trusting relationship at a level one above the respective project managers.
Supporting capture and bid management activities to ensure portfolio tender submissions are compelling and competitive.

How About You?

Tertiary qualified in business, engineering, project management or related field, with formal IPMA certification preferred.
Extensive experience of scoping, planning, managing and delivering highly complex, large-scale projects from mobilisation to successful completion within a customer-driven environment
Proven and effective leadership skills with a high level of interpersonal and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams.
A champion of change, able to drive a culture of continuous improvement and embed the adoption of best practice within the organisation
Demonstrated ability to lead large multi-skilled engineering teams in an international environment in diverse cultures and unstable arena concerning one or several stakeholders.
