WHO WE ARE:

Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) is a volunteer-based emergency service. Our highly skilled and equipped Volunteers are trained comprehensively in a wide range of emergency environments. To minimise the impact of emergencies when they occur and strengthen the community's capacity to recover swiftly and safely, VICSES focuses on working with communities and partners in building resilience to achieve more aware, informed and prepared communities. We support them to understand their risk and the relevance of taking action before, during and after emergency events.

As the largest road rescue network in Australia we have specialist teams that provide a 24/7 response to road accident and trauma incidents. We assist Victoria Police in search and rescue operations, and play an important role in supporting the Country Fire Authority (CFA), Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV), Parks Victoria and the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) during major bushfire and emergency incidents.

ROLE SUMMARY:

This position is available due to VICSES implementing a new operating model with a change to the structure of roles, to best serve the needs of our community and our people.

As the Personal Protective Clothing and Equipment Officer you will provide assistance to the Logistics and Equipment team in the delivery of end-to-end procurement related activities operational equipment, personal protective clothing and consumables.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Support the administration and coordination of equipment and clothing supply, including processing of supply requests, requesting quotes, issuing of purchase orders, and providing first level phone support in the use of the VICSES online buying tool.

Support the Equipment & Clothing Officer in maintaining the currency of the equipment and clothing catalogues including pricing and specification updates, publishing to the hub and seeking improvements in the layout and information supplied to members.

Provide support in the administration of the VICSES online buying tool including being the first point of call for any system or user issues, preparing backorder reports, updating the pricelist, as well as adding and removing products from the tool.

Maintain the VICSES specification library, complete asset registration forms, assist with coordinating trial equipment, update the equipment database and record all documents in the records management system.
