Operations Officer

About the Position

Located in the Lifestyle and Community Directorate, Health and Regulatory Services Branch, this key Team Leader position isresponsible for developing and delivering a range of scientifically based invasive plant management programs to protect the City's residents, visitors, and natural environment.

This position ensures all activities are performed safely and efficiently and comply with all statutory and regulatory legislation.

Key Deliverables of the Position:
Plan, organise and implement work plans for invasive plant management acrossthe City.
Lead, mentor and develop a team of invasive plant technicians and the Invasive Plants Compliance Officer.
Preparation of reports, presentations and briefing documents on technical matters
Developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

About You

You will have extensive experience designing, delivering and reviewing integrated invasive plant management programs. You'll also have excellent interpersonal skills, manage conflicting priorities skilfully and know how to use your leadership skills to mentor and empower your team.

To be successful in this role, you will also have:

A current Qld Commercial Operators Licence for the distribution of herbicides.
A class C drivers licence.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills.
Good working knowledge of the Biosecurity Act
Experience using GIS-based software
Developed project management skills, with the ability to coordinate and manage projects and resources effectively to achieve goals, deadlines and commitments.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
A proactive and positive attitude.
