Your Opportunity

Library Support Officers are employed in various areas throughout the region and provide timely, efficient and cost-effective administrative services to all clients.

This position reports to the Client Services Librarian.

This is a Permanent, Part-time (.), working Monday-Wednesday opportunity and the position will be based primarily at our Toowoomba Campus . However, you may be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campuses.

Key Responsibilities

Provide effective and efficient customer-focused library service that delivers value and meets the educational and social needs of TAFE Queensland clients.
First point of contact for client advice on technical and policy matters related to library services and provide the highest standard of frontline and circulation support in person, by telephone and in writing to all clients.
Update and maintain knowledge of TAFE Queensland systems, including but not limited to the Library Management System (LMS) and use this knowledge base to make informed, consistent decisions in the delivery of library services.
Perform library duties such as operation of Library Information Management System (LIMS), shelving, issues, returns and stock maintenance, displays, over dues and general circulation duties.
Provide library facilities and opportunities for literacy, lifelong learning, creativity, work, relaxation and play
Develop staff capabilities and undertake business initiatives to make continuous service improvements for our clients.
Operates within established practices, policy and procedure guidelines to satisfy the educational needs of TAFE Queensland internal and external clients.
Provide supervision and direction to administrative staff within the work area.
Ensure day to day activities align with business operations.
Contribute to improvement in business processes and practices.

Demonstrated skill in written, oral and interpersonal skills including liaising and consulting with internal and external clients.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a team to achieve excellent library customer service delivery.
Demonstrated provision of courteous, prompt and professional support to internal and external Library clients, utilising your high-level administrative, prioritisation and time management skills to achieve positive outcomes.
Demonstrated personal responsibility for accurate completion of work, seeking assistance when required and offering assistance when able.
Demonstrated initiative, attitude and ability to thrive within a dynamic, challenging and changing environment.

Highly Desirable Requirements

Possession of a Certificate IV in Library and Information Services (or near completion of Certificate)
