About the Program:

Indonesia is home to the worlds third-largest remaining rainforest. The Indonesian Intact Rainforest Partnership (IIRP) is a project within WRIs Food Program that aims to support the efforts of the provincial and central governments of Indonesia to pursue alternative and sustainable economic development for provinces with large amounts of intact forest cover. These include Aceh, North Kalimantan, Papua, and West Papua.

The Indonesian Intact Rainforest Initiative is designed to help catalyze the partners, skills, and alliances across governments, businesses, NGOs, and local communities to support the realization of forest-friendly development.

This job will be part of the core team of four based in Sydney working closely with three other core team members in Indonesia, working closely with the wider WRI network globally.

Job Highlight:

In this role, you will support a small team in Sydney, Australia, helping to ensure the delivery of goals in a timely and effective manner. The successful candidate should be able to work with limited supervision to a high level, they need to like people and work collaboratively to deliver outcomes.

The position serves as a primary point of contact for internal and external collaborators and requires a high degree of integrity and discretion.

You will be supported by the rest of the team in Sydney.

You will report to the Sydney-based Project Manager.

This position requires working in an office in central Sydney. Some remote working is possible; 3 days in the office are required.

What you will do:

Day-to-day administration

Proactively support a team of three in Sydney with fundamentals of running a lively office including leading all aspects of travel, managing diaries, and processing expenses.
Support project management for the Partnership, including managing budgets, contracts, and collaborations with partners and suppliers. This includes the ability to confidently use operational systems within a large global NGO.
Track funding opportunities and record information in online tracking systems.
Process invoices and payments for projects in compliance with WRIs policies (subgrants, consultancies, work orders, etc.)

Managing documentation
Provide notes of key meetings and ensure all decisions and agreements are detailed, and that office records are up-date and support clear and effective governance for the partnership.

Providing IT support

Lead on IT support for the team and in updating systems and procedures to enhance the benefits that innovative IT can bring to a modern office.
Demonstrate interest in Indonesia, climate, or forest conservation issues in order to assist with proposal writing and management of priority projects/programs.

What you will need:

Bachelor's degree
Minimum of 3 years of work experience in a comparable job and/or relevant field.
Proven high level of organizational skills and reliability in the delivery of tasks, including proven experience in working unsupervised.
Experience in project management including management of budgets, contracts and relationships.
Ability to take clear and detailed notes of meetings and agreements with partners and collaborators, including handling efficient filing systems for the Initiative.
Literacy of commonly used office software and ability to troubleshoot with patience and good grace.
Energy and passion for the project and willingness to help deliver outcomes.
A natural collaborator and people person who can help build our teams relationships with collaborators and partners.
Excellent written and oral communication skills; proficiency in written English.
Willingness to work outside office hours where required.
Dedication to WRIs mission and institutional values.
Possession of Australian nationality/work permit, be able to work in Sydney starting immediately.

Potential Salary:

$AUD75,000-85,000 + superannuation (10.5%) ;Salary is commensurate with experience and other compensable factors. WRI offers a competitive remuneration and benefits package.
