As a Physiotherapist within NALHN Acute Services, you will undertake three to six month rotations across both our hospital sites in the areas of Medicine, Surgery, Cardiology, Intensive Care, Respiratory Medicine, the Emergency Department, Neurology, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics and Women's Health. We also have a rotation available through our Outpatient Services, in which you may have the opportunity to develop skills in specialised areas such as Vestibular and Lymphoedema Physiotherapy, and be a part of our award-winning Orthopaedic Substitution service.
Our Senior Physiotherapists are highly regarded and extensively experienced, and offer in-house training in specialty areas, along with professional support and supervision. For early-career Physiotherapists, we offer a 12 month long inter-disciplinary professional onboarding program to support the transition into professional practice. We offer flexible working arrangements, including a combination of weekday and weekend work and part-time hours.
Other potential vacancies varying in lengths in both AHP1 and AHP2 roles are available, dependant on your level of experience. The Physiotherapist (AHP1) works under direct clinical supervision and may provide direction and support to Allied Health Assistants and students. The Physiotherapist (AHP2) works under limited direct clinical supervision and may provide direction and support to less experienced therapists, Allied Health Assistants and students.
The Physiotherapist (AHP1) is accountable to the Senior Manager of Physiotherapy for the provision assessment and treatment services for inpatients and outpatients of NALHN, which aims to optimise health outcomes. The incumbent will rotate through a series of clinical services. They will apply clinical experience, clinical knowledge and professional competence to plan, implement and evaluate comprehensive and integrated services to the needs of clients of the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network.
The Physiotherapist (AHP2) is accountable to the Senior Manager Physiotherapy NALHN for the provision assessment and treatment services for NALHN acute hospital inpatients and outpatients, which aims to optimise health outcomes. The incumbent may rotate through a series of clinical services. They will apply clinical experience, with increasing acute hospital and outpatient service clinical knowledge and professional competence, to plan, implement and evaluate comprehensive and integrated services to the needs of clients of NALHN.
The Physiotherapist works collaboratively with the Allied Health multi-disciplinary team and liaises directly with medical, nursing staff of NALHN and with other community agencies.
To be eligible for this position you must hold an appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration with the Physiotherapist Board of Australia.
