The School of Materials Science and Engineering is one of the top ranked Materials programs in the Asia- Pacific regions and strongly positioned in every facet of materials science and engineering. It offers undergraduate programs in Materials Science and Engineering Honours, as well as a of combined degree programs with Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering and Commerce.
The Administrative Officer will be responsible for assisting in activities in the newly established UNSW-Vecor Technologies research collaboration. Vecor, a technology and innovations company focussed on environmental and energy materials, is currently working in partnership with researchers in the NEMCAT Novel Engineering Materials for Conventional and Applied Technologies group at the School of Materials Science and Engineering UNSW.
The Administrative Officer position will involve regular engagement with stakeholders in the University and externally, communicating research results in the form of presentations and reports. Additionally, will require engaging with different funding agencies and assisting relevant staff at UNSW and Vecor in the preparation of relevant grant applications and associated documentation.
$90K - $966K plus 17% superannuation and annual leave loading

will report tDr Pramod Koshy, Research Lead, while alsengaging closely with the CEand management team of Vecor Technologies on all activities and have ndirect reports.
Specific responsibilities includ
as the primary for key internal and external stakeholders, maintain effective channels of communication, analyse requests and correspondence tidentify priorities whilst exercising discretion, initiative and confidentiality at all times.
Draft communications of specialised scientific research done by the Vecor-UNSW research team tnon-expert stakeholders, including the University, government, staff, investors, suppliers, customers, media and other stakeholders
Identify opportunities timprove the quality or efficacy of communications and provide advice tthe UNSW Vecor research team including most appropriate channels tdeliver effective and targeted messages trelevant audiences.
Manage and maintain Vecors and NEMCAT groups , social media platforms and publications while ensuring they are disseminated trelevant audiences.
Support the delivery of PR launches, awards and campaigns for the Vecor-UNSW research collaboration tmeet defined objectives and tensure maximum profile for key personnel in this partnership.
Support the NEMCAT group in the School of Materials Science and Engineering UNSW tidentify grant programs relevant tthe UNSW-Vecor Research Partnership and assist with preparation of grant applications on research activities and outputs
Work effectively with external suppliers and clients torganise the purchase and delivery of equipment for the UNSW Vecor research labs.
Review and monitor finance administration requests, including but not limited to, purchasing, travel, credit card reconciliation, expense reimbursements, payment requests and billing processes.

Relevant tertiary qualification in Science / Engineering with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
Demonstrated experience assisting with developing, delivering and measuring external and internal communications and branding programs within entrepreneurial organisations.
Demonstrated experience in conveying complex information in straightforward messages for communication ta diverse group of stakeholders.
Proven ability tliaise effectively with all levels of internal and external stakeholders, and exercise creativity and enthusiasm in the development of new initiatives.
Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability twork well under pressure and manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
Outstanding interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills and the proven ability tinfluence and negotiate with stakeholders tachieve successful outcomes.
Excellent level of computer literacy with excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications and social media applications.
Excellent numeracy skills with the ability tunderstand and communicate financial information and monitor budgets
