Additional Comments: Kedron High is looking for a full-time SEP teacher for an ASAP start. We would be particularly interested to find someone who demonstrates the following:
Has worked with a wide range of verified students, but particularly ASD, SLI and ID.
Preferably has worked with non-verified students, including LS and EAL/D students.
Preferably has strengths in both English and Maths, particularly at a lower to mid primary level.
Has worked with teachers and students in mainstream classes.
Preferably has written or had some involvement with ICPs, ISPs, safety plans, risk assessments and behaviour plans.
Is sensitive to the needs of our students.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Delivering targeted curriculum for diverse learners, including students with disabilities
Planning, assessing and reporting across several Australian Curriculum areas for students on Individual Curriculum Plans
Delivering and supporting the development of a literacy intervention program
Case Management of students with diverse needs
Co-teaching, working with other teachers to deliver curriculum to diverse learners
Supporting the improvement of differentiation across the school in terms of content, process, product and environment
Engaging with students and teachers over a wide variety of tasks to support in making adjustments
Appropriate Special and/or Inclusive Education qualification, or equivalent experience. If not, a willingness to learn and develop as a special educator.
A good understanding of Special Education, as it relates to students with intellectual disabilities and specific learning difficulties
Experience and/or knowledge with the use of AAC to support students with complex communication needs, in particular modelling of PODD as a whole language system
Experience in Positive Behaviour for Learning strategies to support students with disabilities
Experience and/or knowledge in the implementation of Comprehensive Literacy Instruction
Experience and/or knowledge of trauma informed practice
The capacity to identify appropriate adjustments for students with diverse learning needs
Experience implementing Individual Curriculum Plans and teaching students on various levels of the Australian Curriculum
Case Management experience of students with diverse needs
An ability to communicate effectively and work supportively with students, parents, carers, therapists, teachers, teacher aides and leadership teams
