The Unit is an acute inpatient unit, caring for people aged 18-65experiencing acute mental ill-health who reside in the local governmentareas of Moreland and Hume.

Your New Role:
The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) is a Registered PsychiatricNurse (RPN 5) based on an inpatient unit and is responsible forassisting the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM)
Provide high level clinical consultancy to the NUM in theassessment, planning and delivery of recovery focused nursing case ofconsumers on the inpatient unit.
Collaborate with the NUM to address priority issues on the inpatientunit which are related to vulnerable and high-risk consumers presentingwith complex needs.
Be responsible for holding important portfolios; includingSafewards, Mental Health Intensive Care Framework and ReducingRestricting Interventions
Hold a current registration with AHPRA, have a minimum of 5 years’experience in psychiatric nursing and have a post graduate qualificationor above.
Demonstrated ability to practice collaboratively as part of the interdisciplinary health care team
Well-developed knowledge of Legislation pertinent to the provisionof mental health services and in particular the Mental Health Act (2014)and Amendments and of policies and strategic directions of PublicMental Health Service.
Demonstrated provision of high quality patient care
Developed assessment, clinical reasoning, problem solving and prioritisation skills
High motivation and willingness to learn
