Job Summary

We’re looking for a dynamic and experienced, senior communication and change management professional to join Optus’ IT team.

The role is within Group IT. You’ll be joining a team whose role it is to communicate and help people connect the dots: to show them how what we’re doing in Group IT supports business strategy and our ambition to create game-changing experiences for our customers and our people. It’s also about keeping people updated on our progress, encouraging them to provide feedback and feel inspired by what we’re doing.

We’re after a specialist who has a strategic approach, who can plan for and develop creative communications and take the lead on change management activities that best position Group IT, its business and its brand with key internal and external stakeholders across the region.

Key Responsibilities

The focus of this role is to lead the creation of key communications and change management initiatives for people in Group IT and across the wider business. Some of the things you can be expected to do include:

Plan, develop and deliver communications that showcase the best of what Group IT does,
Lead the development of our internal communications calendar,
Come up with creative change management plans that make an impact and drive engagement,
Track the effectiveness of our communications and make suggestions for how we can make them better
Source and draft external articles that showcase the best of Group IT, for publication in identified media outlets in partnership with the corporate affairs team,
Flawlessly execute engaging events
Provide support to your team mates

Experience and Qualifications

5+ years’ experience in a senior communication and change management role in a large organisation
Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism or a relevant area
8+ years developing written communications for an internal and/or external audience
Experience managing an editorial calendar
Experience in developing internal communications strategies and plans and their successful implementation
Experience in the development and execution of change management plans
Experience working with designers and training teams
Proven experience working with, and managing relationships with, senior stakeholders
