Rig Electrician/Mechanic/Welder AUS
The Senior Electrician is responsible for all electrical systems on the drilling rig and camp facility. Ensures that all electrical systems, plant and equipment is safe and complies with relevant standards and codes.
Specific Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Responsible for all electrical systems on the drilling rig and camp facility in accordance with legislative standards.
Ensures that all electrical systems, plant and equipment are safe and complies with relevant standards and codes
Adopt Company preventive maintenance system to contract.
Proved instruction and supervision to electrical maintenance support staff.
Contributes proactively to maintenance programs and targets.
Maintain inventory of spare parts and emergency spares.
Manage inspection and re-certification of critical components as per contract.
Provide hands-on refurbishment of Company owned equipment.
Provide technical support as required to ensure uninterrupted filed activities.
Establishes correctly isolating procedures for the safe maintenance of plant and equipment and ensures that all relevant personnel are aware of these practices and procedures.
Reports directly to the Rig Manager on all aspects of electrical related issues and maintains a visible commitment towards safety.
Keeps Electrical Superintendent informed about any issues, that may be deemed as un-safe or non-compliant or not according to acceptable trade practice.
Provide written reports as required, including but not limited to: Hand over notes, Day logs, After Action Reviews, SOP’s, JSA’s, Critical Spares, Hazardous Area Verification Dossiers, Test Reports etc.
Any further reasonable duties as directed by a supervisor
Undertake all other work as requested by Management
From time to time there will be a requirement for you work reasonable overtime in addition to the ordinary hours
Comply with all QA policies and work procedures
Comply with all HSE policies and work procedures
Contribute to the development of and improvements in departmental QA procedures
Actively work towards achieving/maintaining of Training Matrix in accordance with organisational KPI’s

Education and Experience
Minimum of 5 years similar experience in the oil and gas industry
Business Ethics – Understands fully Ensign’s ethics policy and its application in all business dealings including contractual agreements and contract negotiations
