Head of Health, Safety & Wellbeing

With coverage across Australia, from large distribution centres in major cities to smaller offices in regional towns, our network of 200+ drivers deliver over 50,000 Winc boxes to customers every working day.

The Head of Health, Safety and Wellbeing partners with the business to build and embed safety capability in our people, safety systems and processes to enable a proactive safety culture here at Winc.

In this role you will be responsible for:

Develop and lead the execution of the Winc HSW Strategy
Provide Health and Safety expertise to the business using data and insights to identify and manage key risks
Partner with the business and key stakeholders so that our leaders and team are committed and accountable to deliver great safety and wellbeing outcomes
Ensure Workplace, Health and Safety systems are maintained in compliance with legislation, Codes of Practice, Standards and Workers Compensation standards and consistent with ISO45001
Lead and coach the HSW team to ensure they have the capability to implement the strategy, programs, and coach line managers to drive a proactive safety culture at Winc
Build our peoples capability so that they know, understand and operate within our Winc Safety and Wellbeing framework
Manage and improve Winc safety systems (Donesafe and Linksafe) to enable critical risk review and controls. Improve the user experience and enable a simplified way of using the tools as one source of information for Health, Safety and Wellbeing.
Lead liaison and crisis or incident management with Government bodies ensuring that Winc is compliant with legislation (State and Federal) and that Winc’s interests are protected.
Manage return to work program and workers compensation claims management of injuries and premiums across Winc and address gaps

Skills & Experience Required

Experienced HSW leader with a background leading in a multisite, cross functional network in warehousing and logistics environment
Great communication skills (verbal, written and oral) that contribute to engaging and coaching teams and effective senior stakeholder management (Presentation, facilitation, and coaching).
Understanding of regulatory environment and advanced knowledge of the Work Health & Safety Act, Regulations and Codes of Practice (in each jurisdiction)
Advanced practical knowledge of Hazard and Risk Management principles
Ability to investigate incidents and hazards and make recommendation for preventative action
Ability to identify safety issues and prepare a plan and mobilise teams to achieve goals
Ability to conduct training needs analysis and prepare and deliver development initiatives to address needs
