Investment Performance Analyst


This role is responsible for calculating and providing performance and detailed attribution reports to clients and internal/external stakeholders across various funds.

Key responsibilities include, however not limited to:

Provide accurate, timely and consistent reporting services to Investment teams, Client services, Client communications, external clients and research houses
Build relationships and interact with portfolio managers, client service, product, investment operations, external vendors and custodians to provide high quality solutions to stakeholders and clients
Responsible for monthly & quarterly attribution reports across funds
Perform detailed analysis and attribution to clearly decompose the drivers of the returns for funds & strategies
Identify and analyse issues, exceptions or errors, and perform an effective and timely resolution process with the internal or outsourced stakeholders
Strong excel and VBA skills (preferred) to improve current reporting processes.
Liaise and interact with external parties such as performance consultants and research houses, including responding to queries
Maintaining and enhancing controls over our processes and deliverables
Proactively analyse and monitor the effectiveness of a process and develops ways and/or redesign workflows to integrate activities and optimise performance, controls and risks inherent in the process
Key requirements:

Relevant professional qualifications or working towards them (CFA or CIPM)
A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or another numerical discipline
A background in Investment performance measurement & attribution analysis or an interest and strong willingness to learn
Knowledge across asset classes, financial instruments and investment vehicles including alternatives and derivatives
Preferably experience using detailed performance systems and market data systems (E.g. StatPro & Factset)
Preferably experience with system transitions and/or data migrations
Ability to work across functional business teams to achieve good quality outcomes
Good relationship building, client service and delivery skills
Good knowledge of the Australian & International wealth management industry, including industry issues, trends, investment products and processes
Good understanding of financial markets and instruments
