We are now looking for a resourceful, driven and creative COMMIS CHEF to provide leadership to the kitchen team, outrageous service and a genuine warm welcome for all our guests.

Requirements for the role
Passion for creating high quality food and experiences.
Certificate III Commercial Cookery or higher
Knowledge around different cuisines and cooking techniques
A good understanding of HACCP and hygiene practices
Good communication skills, attitude and be a team player
Assist Head Chef, Sous Chef and Chef de Partie with kitchen operations
Your Core Purpose will be:
Reporting to the Head Chef, Sous Chef and Chef de Partie – you will be the face of our organization executing tasks in line with overall kitchen operations.
As a member of the Kitchen team you will deliver excellent food service on brand with Hyatt Place
Take part in training and daily task completion
Adhere to Hyatt Place Service Standards and Procedures
Perform all tasks of a Commis chef as needed to facilitate food service
Ensure all kitchen operations are executed per policies and procedures designated from the Head Chef
Maintain excellent communication with the Front of house service staff
Analyse, investigate, and resolve guest complaints
Organize yourself to work autonomously and complete tasks in absence of a supervising chef
Assist to succeed in achieving kitchen team goals.

Someone with experience in a similar role is ideal
A positive, enthusiastic attitude and the ability to work a flexible 7-day roster
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to interpret and perform basic computer functions. Knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel and are an asset.
Positive attitude and being a team player essential
Demonstrated ability to provide and improve customer service with both internal and external customers.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
