Sanitarium is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Category Development Manager to join our team on a part time capacity here at Berkeley Vale, on the Central Coast of NSW. In this role you will have the opportunity to work with a great team of professionals & Australia’s leading retailers in delivering some of the country’s most iconic food brands, such as Weet-Bix, UP&GO and So Good to households all across Australia.
Reporting to the Senior Category Development Manager, you will be responsible for developing & embedding our strategic ambitions in this customer facing, insight-based role.
Using strong analytical expertise and your well-developed knowledge of growth levers, you’ll use comprehensive shopper, consumer and category analytics, turn vision into reality, delivering category growth, revenue & profit opportunities for both Sanitarium and our customers.
About the role:
Collaborate with the sales, category and marketing teams in the use of fact based category, consumer and shopper insights to develop category vision and strategies to unlock profitable growth
Build strong relationships with customers in order to understand retailer needs and translate into customer-centric Category Growth Drivers using best practice processes and tools
Develop Point of Purchase vision for your categories by shopping mission, channel & by customer, inclusive of specific strategies for the growing e-commerce channel
Own & lead the category review process, providing detailed category performance metrics, growth opportunities along with comprehensive range & space recommendations that deliver on these growth objectives
Involvement in annual business planning processes as it relates to the category, brand plans and key initiatives
Work collaboratively, through joint business planning, with retailers to set strategic direction, unlocking growth opportunities for priority categories and accounts
Monitor performance of category product portfolio, including competitors ranges, to ensure product strategy is optimal
Provide input into NPD process, assisting in setting of goals and objectives for new products and supporting go to market strategies
You will have a minimum of 3 years experience in an Account Management, Category Management or Insights roles
Nielsen scan/panel experience is essential
JDA space planning, IRI and/or Quantium experience is advantageous
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint
Strong commercial acumen
