The Chrysalis Academy is a non-profit organisation based in Tokai (Cape Town) offering a three-month residential youth development programme for youth of the Western Cape. The programme is holistic and strongly based on discipline, structure, order and routine. Chrysalis Academy is a smoke, drug and alcohol-free organisation who is seeking an energetic, highly motivated and well-grounded individual who shares the Academys values and displays exemplary role modelling by embodying the Academys holistic approach to fill the following* two-year contract position:**TO HEAD UP THE ACADEMYS PSYCHOSOCIAL SERVICES COMPONENT* *Purpose:* * To manage and implement the psychosocial support services of the Chrysalis Academy *Key performance areas*: * Provide counselling services to students, graduates, parents and staff * Manage and facilitate the Family Integration Programme * Co-ordinate the Therapeutic Care Programme * Supervise and manage a Social Worker and an Admin Clerk * Manage a team of professional volunteers (counsellors and therapeutic care) * Facilitate Life Skills programmes and workshops * Facilitate the Outdoor psycho-social programme * Conduct ongoing research to enhance the Life Coaching Services and the Student Programme *Minimum requirements:* * Honours or preferably a Masters in Life Coaching, Psychology, Counselling, Social Work or related qualification * Minimum of 5 years youth development experience (working with young adults) * Minimum of 5 years management experience * Experience in working with a professional team of counsellors, coaches and mentors * Qualitative and quantitative research experience * A valid drivers license is essential * Well-grounded, non-smoker with sober habits * The flexibility to work over some weekends, in line with the Academys course calendar is essential *Skills and competence*: * Excellent counselling and mentoring skills * Excellent facilitation skills * Excellent holistic self-care practices * Solid analytical and research skills * Knowledge of Adult Education Principles * Knowledge of a holistic approach to human development * Conflict resolution skills * Excellent report writing skills * Ability to identify and solve problems * Attention to detail * Computer literate (MS Office suite especially PowerPoint & Word) *2-year contract position renewable subject to a performance evaluation* *Salary: R p/a CTC **Minimum requirements:* * Honours or preferably a Masters in Life Coaching, Psychology, Counselling, Social Work or related qualification * Minimum of 5 years youth development experience (working with young adults) * Minimum of 5 years management experience * Experience in working with a professional team of counsellors, coaches and mentors * Qualitative and quantitative research experience * A valid drivers license is essential * Well-grounded, non-smoker with sober habits * The flexibility to work over some weekends, in line with the Academys course calendar is essential *Skills and competence*: * Excellent counselling and mentoring skills * Excellent facilitation skills * Excellent holistic self-care practices * Solid analytical and research skills * Knowledge of Adult Education Principles * Knowledge of a holistic approach to human development * Conflict resolution skills * Excellent report writing skills * Ability to identify and solve problems * Attention to detail * Computer literate (MS Office suite especially PowerPoint & Word)
