Business Development / Industry Manager - Liquids And Gases

Minimum requirements for the role:A tertiary qualification in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or related qualification is preferred for the role.Previous experience having worked as a New Business Development / Industry Manager or related role within the chemical industry calling on the petrochemical or mining, or air and gas or water or other chemical industries is essential.The Company will also consider a Product Manager who has experience within the chemical industries for this role.Previous experience working within a multinational company having worked on operational level would be an advantage.Previous working knowledge of production processes utilising catalysts, absorbents, filter mediums and related products with be an advantage.Must be computer literate with solid working knowledge of MS Office.Previous experience having used customer and inventory management systems would be an advantage.Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.Must be solution-focussed, resilient and be able to multitask and work under pressure.The successful candidate will be responsible for:Managing and driving the sales and promotion of a portfolio of specialised products utilised in the petrochemical, mining, air and gas, water and various other chemical manufacturing sectors.Managing the relationship with Key Suppliers of these products and identifying opportunities for growth through extension of the product range and / or customer base.Developing and expanding product segments with strategic importance within South Africa and neighbouring countries (as required).Creating and submitting offers, including price responsibility.Negotiating supply contracts.Processing Customer inquiries including complaints.Providing technical advice to Customers on the development of formulations, including appropriate sampling.Conducting market analysis of customers, products, competitors and application markets.Drafting the budget and requirements planning.Collaborating and participating in trade fares and customer seminars.Working closely with Suppliers and Supply Chain to ensure an optimal stock holding.Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
