The Group's four business clusters (Sanlam Life and Savings, Sanlam Investment Group, Sanlam Emerging Markets and Santam) house the Group's business operations. The Group Officeprovides strategic direction and support to the four clusters, assisting them in realising their strategies and meeting their business objectives. The Group Office is responsible for governance and for the Group's centralised functions, which include: Finance, Actuarial and Risk Management, Strategy, Human Resources, Market Development and Brand Services. What will you do? This role resides in the Group Office and reports to the Human Capital Chief Operating officer. Itis a senior leadership role. You will be responsible for heading up the Human Capital (HC) Shared Services environment, which is classified into two main sections: contact services and transaction services.Contact services is the client facing section of HC shared services where employees log issues and queries. It is expected that leading edge technology is used, and that excellent customer service is provided. Transaction services is the transaction processing of the key functions, for example payroll processing and related 3rd party payments, adjustments to employee benefits and organisation structure changes, super user support for the HC technology landscape, data governance and access to data. The role will work alongside the HC COO to build up the function and position the HC shared services to be market leading, globally relevant and internally respected and acknowledged as the go to area for efficient and effective shared services for HC.The role will actively engage in the following:Meeting the expectations of key business stakeholders to ensure better business outcomes for shared HC services.Providing effective financial stewardship and demonstrating value creation.Driving continuous improvement.Providing effective governance practices.Leading and managing people.What will make you successful in this role? The following are some of the key deliverables expected from this role:Strategic, tactical, and operational planning and implementation of Shared Services strategy and operational plan to drive service delivery to the business.Establish, manage, lead, and maintain the Contact Services function within HC Operations, to ensure high levels of response time, customer service, and efficiency.Establish, manage, lead, and maintain the Transactions function (payroll administration, pension, and benefits management) within HC Operations, with accountability for agreed service levels in respect of response time, customer service, efficiency, quantity, and quality.Promoting a high-performance culture with a focus on team collaboration, simplicity, ongoing improvement, and creating an excellent employee experience.Understanding and leveraging technology to play an important role in enabling efficiency and digitisation of the environment.Ensue governance, risk, compliance, transparency, consistency, and integration required to effectively manage HCM processes.The successful incumbent will deliver the above through:Stakeholders, processes, timeously available, relevant, and reliable information.Risk mitigation and resolution to HC and Sanlam group.Working closely with Specialised Services and Technology Support in HC Operations.Working closely with the Operations Service Managers in each cluster to ensure satisfactory delivery of services.Being a member of the HC Service Delivery Committee Forum and HC Operations Governance and Service Delivery Forums.Ensuring shared services functions are delivered cost-effectively, promoting operational efficiencies and service improvements.Reviewing and monitoring related services to identify trends and problem areas, reporting on risks, key performance indicators, and proposed corrective action or new approaches.Developing and implementing new work methods and procedures of Shared Services and recommending procedural changes to improve efficiency and ensure appropriate implementation of decisions made by senior management.Preparing and monitoring the Shared Services budget.Overseeing and ensuring the smooth functioning of information systems required to deliver services and defining and implementing changes required to maintain the systems operational and fit for purpose.Supporting system deployment activities to ensure smooth adoption by Business Partners of Shared Services.Defining and ensuring the implementation of appropriate Service Level Agreements, where applicable.Setting standards for quality and ensuring that operational activities are implemented in accordance with recognised procedures and guidelines and meet the established standards.Establishing quality control mechanisms such as client surveys, periodic data quality assurance reviews, error escalation procedures, etc.Building and maintaining a high-performance team and culture within the Shared Services function, through effective staff development, training, and career growth of the Shared Services teams.Qualification and Experience Bachelor of Commerce, Business Management or HC Degree with 10 years related experienceMinimum of 3 years Generalist experience in HCMin 6 years of experience and a thorough understanding of Operational Excellence within HC Shared Services processes and practiceProven capability to lead, develop and motivate a team and create a best-in-class HC shared services departmentProven leadership capability of implementing or upgrading an integrated HC system to support an efficient and consistent HC shared services environmentKnowledge and understanding of SAP SuccessFactors will be an advantageFinancial services experience is an advantage.The incumbent should possess the following core capabilities:Operational ExcellenceCustomer FocusProblem Solving and AnalyticsNetwork Connected HC Customer Management ExperienceCase ManagementStandard ReportingHC reportingData and Information GovernanceProcess ExecutionKnowledge and Skills Strategic Planning Risk and Governance Management Leading others and resource management Strategic Talent acquisition and retention Personal Attributes Organisational savvy - Contributing strategically Manages complexity - Contributing strategically Drives engagement - Contributing strategically Business insight - Contributing strategically Build a successful career with us Were all about building strong, lasting relationships with our employees.
