Job Description:The immediate priority of this role is tocoordinate andstreamline efficient & effective processes supported byappropriate technologyand people development that enables operational and safety best practices within the organisation through internal and external collaboration and partnerships. Manage the effective implementation of the Supply Chain strategy within the Physical SupplyChain and logistics environment Embrace an agile Supply Chain by being adaptive and flexible to accommodate and focus on emerging and changing businesspriorities Identify andensurethe execution and rollout of technology and innovative practices and services though cross-functional collaboration across the region that supports business strategy, operational and safety improvementsSupport the implementationof materials planning capability and roll-out to end user in the regionImplement and monitorkey metrics that drive business strategy Implement a central reporting platform that enables visibility and the management of key KPIs in line with overall business strategy (both leading and lagging indicators)Implementnew standards and tasks requests Provide inputs to COE with respect to standards and policies for global implementationSupport the roll-out of the Anglo American Operating Model, via participation in site implementations and cross-site best practice sharing, to leverage tangible working capital benefits.Conductexternal benchmarking of Anglo American Physical Supply Chain against similar and different industries and practicesEnsure that legal requirements are understood byteamand manage the implementation thereofSupport operational area teams to deliver on their and the businesses objectives materials planning, warehousing andtransport.Assist in the execution and rollout of 3PL services across the regionImplement changes through continuous improvement initiatives across the region using Industrial Engineering and related techniques, i.e., leanEnsureinventory optimization to decrease wastage at the operationsby holding the right amount of inventory thereby positively impacting Anglo Americans carbonfootprint.Provide input and guidance tosourcing and purchasing teamson optimal fulfilment strategiesfor commodity classes Ensure seamless integration with stakeholders (including end users) to support the effective implementationof theAnglo AmericanOperating Model Maintain constructive partnerships with operational areas materials planning, warehousing and transport.Integratewith warehousing and transport operations on 3PL performance and improvement areas. Improve the performance of Supply Chain in the region through benchmarking activities to determine PSC leading practice, relevant technology and digitization opportunities that will enable the transformation of PSC performance in Anglo American with effective integration of effective systems, technology and practices. Qualifications:An undergraduate qualification -Bachelordegree level or equivalent, alternatively relevant tertiary qualification and proven track record of extensive practical experience in a role and context of similar complexity Experience:Practical experience in relevant field Desirable:A postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline OR a proven track record of extensive practical experience in a role and context of similar complexity Technical Knowledge:Knowledge of Supply Chain management and interdependencies within a regional context (The Supply Chain discipline with specific reference toLogistics operationsExperience of Logistics & Transport as senior management Operational Excellence experience in an industry with acomplex inventory profile, high-criticality items and rigorous policyrequirements Experience of developing and implementing policies, standards,reporting, KPIs & procedures Experience in demand forecasting and planning abilitiesAbility to process and manage high complexity scenarios andprojects.Good working knowledge of materials planning systematic capabilities andsystems,i.e., demand algorithms andstatistical models Understanding of commercial and contractual requirements and nuances for logistics, warehousing and materials planning mattersKnowledge of suitable service levels and expected performance levels from 3PLs and suppliersWorking understanding of systems capabilities and systems for warehousing, transport and materials planning Knowledge of desired systematic capabilities and systems for warehousing, transport and materials planningKnowledge of and interest in future technology landscape, i.e., digital productsCommercial matters related to logistics, warehousing and materials planning in region, i.e., process flows, specifications, costing formats, etc. services, etc.
