The Export Credit Insurance Corporation of South Africa SOC Ltd (ECIC) is a wholly owned corporation of the DTI with a mandate to facilitate and encourage the export of South African goods and services. The ECIC achieves this by underwriting bank loans and offshore investments and provides export credit and foreign investment insurance cover. The ECIC is a registered short-term insurer and is regulated by the Financial Services Board.PURPOSE OF THIS ROLEDaily, apply analytical tools necessary to identify, assess, manage and monitor country credit/ industry risks; and, implement and maintain the ECIC underwriting engines to comply with international best practice.Provide insurance premium quotations in accordance with the Underwriting Manual of the ECIC and acceptable actuarial practices.provide inputs in the research process to identify trade and investment opportunities for the benefits of South African exporters and investors.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES, MEASURES & INTERFACESResearch, analysis, interpretation and preparation of reports summarizing economic dataDevelop and apply the risk assessment methodologies and models.Develop and apply Credit Risk Assessment Tools.
