We provide a range of specialist services that enhance the profitability, global competitiveness and sustainability of the South African sugar industry.About the RoleIn support of this service, the Governance and Compliance Manager contextually and accurately interprets legislation and monitors compliance with great attention to detail and professionalism to ensure that the organisation, as the regulatory body of the sugar industry acts within its legislative and governance framework. High quality advice and support is provided to the organisation and to other industry bodies.The Governance and Compliance Manager proactively and reactively formulates corporate governance processes which ensure that compliance gaps are identified and risks of non-compliance are mitigated. The overall result of the function is to ensure the adequate protection of the organisations rights and interests and to create industry-wide benefit by promoting legal and governance awareness.Key Performance AreasTo serve as the lead legal adviser, manage, oversee and support as required by the organisation.To manage and continuously enhance the corporate governance processes of the organisation in accordance with the respective Codes of Governance which includes monitoring and identifying gaps with current processes.To manage the efficient compliance function to the organisation as the regulator of the sugar industry which includes monitoring and the setting of standards across the industry.To provide the company secretarial function to the wholly owned subsidiaries and maintain statutory compliance and to adequately report to the board and shareholders.Serve as the Risk Officer and ensure that risks are identified, managed, monitored and reported.To serve as the Information Officer and continually ensure adherence to information legislation
