This requires the building of accurate and competitive commercial models and supporting solution development and operations in constructing profitable commercial responses to business opportunities. Job Functions Advisory,Business Development,Client Services,Communications,Health & Safety,Marketing,Strategic Communication Industries Automotive Specification Strategic/FinancialManage strategy planning and commercial modelling in support of the business growth strategy for SMD, encompassing the acquisition of new and retention of current customers.Analyse any new priorities for selected geographies, markets and industries, in line with the broader SMD strategic goals. Evaluate and monitor news opportunities and risks within our customer base (from a macro as well as service point of view) impacting directly or indirectly on our customers, business, competitors, regulatory aspects, processes and service delivery. Provide support to the submission of tenders and negotiations ensuring all related commercial aspects are in line with legal requirements, influencing tender profitability and success. Cost and provide pricing models for new solutions or to optimise current offerings. Ensure the set sales targets and sales metrics are aligned to and achieve the planned business objectives. Support sales opportunities across the company as required.Create a standardised approach to Costing and response to commercial offers.Operational Facilitate the annual strategic planning process for SMD, eliciting input from the operational and functional Heads, influencing and contributing to the SMD strategy. Continuously identify and prompt the business around new as well as monitor and manage current trends and information relevant to the development of the SMD strategic plan (such as industry and competitors trends; macro-economic factors; legislation, innovation, etc.) Coordinate the contractual engagement with clients and manage risks in the contacting processImplement agreed commercial models. Ensure commercial objectives are reached in first period of operationEvaluate profitability on existing contractsEnsure understanding of the optimal customer solution and the options to meeting the customers requirement at best costStakeholders (internal & external customers, suppliers, shareholders, communities) Build and maintain effective working relationships with customers and provide them with relevant commercial services and information as required, from the solution design phase until successful delivery of outcomes to the clientCorrectly interpret and translate client requirements into world class optimal, cost saving business solutions Ensure at all times customer intimacy is of highest focus and customer expectations are managed successfullyEnsure that all customer/supplier SLAs are in place and adhered to Facilitate and exploit SMD and broader Barloworld synergies in support of growth objectivesEvaluate and provide guidance on the required business resources to adequately deliver the strategy. Provide inputs into the development of relevant reward solutions (such as commission structures) that enable the delivery of strategy as well as drive effective collaborative behaviours within the teamSupport and manage business stakeholders in proposal process.Manage internal supplier relationships effectively including legal, marketing, operational excellence and other support services.
