As such the incumbent must have good writtenThe incumbent is expected to communicate verbally with members & colleagues on aregular basis and as such must have good verbal communication skills.Assist Research Ecologist with the development of habitat enhancement strategy inconjunction with the Chief Operating Officer;Implement habitat enhancement strategy to increase the productivity and palatabilityof the old land habitat and other key nutrient areas through some or all of the following:SlashingBurningSeedingSpraying of Stoebe vulgaris and other woody encroachers and weedsImplement salt and lick block distribution strategyBush clearing/ thinningMonitoring and control of erosionRemoval of rubble and wire from the ReserveGame managementRenewal of exemption and other permits as necessary;Assist with the annual aerial censusAssist with and supervise game capture operationsAssist with and supervise game introductionsAssist with elephant, lion and other contraceptionSupervision and care of game in captivityOrganize general veterinary workAssist with general game interventionsCulling as requiredDisease controlSupervision of naturally occurring fires and strategic intervention as and whennecessary to prevent damage to infrastructure and to prevent fires from escaping offWelgevonden onto neighbouring properties that do not subscribe to the same firephilosophyControlled burning for habitat and/or game management or fire breaksEstablishment and maintenance of a strategic firebreak network and maintain suitablefire-breaks on the boundaries in the areas where roads are far from the boundaryLiaison with local FPALiaison with neighbours relating to fires and management thereofTo identify threatsLocate areas of alien plant infestationImplement measures to eradicate alien plantsMonitor and control re-growth of alien plantsAssist with the prevention of the introduction of alien plants at lodgesSupervision and management of conservation staff:Keep up to date with labour legislation and compliance with Basic Conditions of Employment ActKeep a record of attendance and punctualityAuthorization of leave (annual, sick;
