Additionally, will assist in the build out of the electronic and algorithmic trading capability, including expanding the product set to trading on offshore equity assets and exotic payoffs. The individual will implement new trading and hedging strategies, to generate new commercial lines, improve profitability and efficiency of existing business. Responsible for developing and updating various desk processes, including but not limited to: option trading models, back-testing strategies, client reporting modules, Murex configuration and trading tools.experience and qualificationsDegree (BSc. Deliver profitable PL for the trading book, under a prudent risk framework. Rely on company and other market economic views to define and deliver on the desk budget. This includes accountability for overall balancing of risk and profitability across the desk Lead their individual trading book profitability in line with the desk mandates, adhering to all relevant limits along internal, regulatory and prudential lines. This includes ensuring that profit and loss (P& L) positioning is reviewed and that submitted predictions are accurate, reliable and verified as soon as possible on T Meticulous risk management mindset, with specific focus on market and operational risk awareness. Manage desk risk by directing portfolio dynamics and taking remedial positions, where required, if market positions have not corrected. Generate and implement appropriate controls and solutions to address desk gaps and to mitigate against risk exposure Understand dynamics in the market and apply this knowledge to identify and evaluate potential desk exposures Understand key competitors, global trends, industry dynamics and key macro environmental forces to analyse and identify desk opportunities and threats. This includes the pro-active prediction of regulatory change impacts to ensure that desk capabilities (people, process, systems) are aligned Understand and apply/translate the impact of economic indicators eg. current account, inflation, policy rates, exchange rates, emerging markets, global influences (eg. oil prices) to ensure that desk market opportunities are maximized Build pricing models that are integrated and relevant in order to establish the fair value of desk product/s Apply multi-dimensional what-if scenarios to define desk positions Display a workable knowledge of relevant systems and interdependencies between these systems Understand and stay close to the needs, wants, motivational perceptions and trading behaviours of desk client groups, including internal stakeholders, to ensure solution relevance.
