Accountant


*Vodacom's No 1 Franchisee (11 Retail branches)* with Head offices based in MONTCLAIR is in search for a dynamic Accountant with minimum 10 -15 years work and operational experience in Retail Business . The successful candidate will be involved to Develop Admin/Finance department, implementing and maintaining processes and systems. We have grown from a small into a medium size business which requires a vibrant and dynamic, hands on person with sound accounting knowledge and strengths in operations to own the Finance department. Full Financial Accounting function up to Trial balance Manage 5-7 people in the Finance team( Creditors, Claims, Finance administrator and Stock controller) Preparation of all statutory functions in terms of SARS recons and submissions Maintenance of various cash books on Pastel Partner Manage General Ledger reconciliations Implementation and maintenance of accounting controls Produce monthly management accounts and full system audits Liaise with MD regarding queries, payments, information required Able to learn all the Vodacom Systems and point of sale *Be hand's on and very operational* *Speed and agility is a key requirement in this position* ** Create and Manage budgets** Aging Stock management Process relevant year end journal entries Prepare Trial Balance Prepare quality working paper files, which meets the standards of the business Draft quality annual financial statements Completion and submission of VAT returns timeously Manage and train junior staff Monitor debit order activity on bank Maintain and implement Pastel Partner Manage asset register and stock implement strong stock control Create and revise all processes and implement strong controls between stores, HQ and suppliersB.Comm with articles completed Experience as a full functional accountant Qualified SAIPA member ***Advanced Excel skills & SOUND *Pastel Partner experience compulsory**** Attention to detail and processes driven *PREFERRED SKILLS* *Strong technical skills in accounting* *Experience in Retail business* *Working independently with strong leadership skills* *Strong pastel Partner knowledge* *Systems orientated* *Ability to communicate effectively in English (written and verbal)* *Be organized, accurate and thorough* *Excellent attention to detail and numerical ability* *Problem solving skills* *Ability to function well under pressure and to manage time and outputs* *High sense of responsibility and be able to multitask and prioritize.* *Computer literate with advance excel skills.* *Good communication skills and ability to take ownership of assigned work and department* *Deadline-driven with efficient Time management & Strong management skills,* *Ability to present in meetings and strong operational Retail skills* *Implement systems and controls* *Must be able to put in extra time at the beginning to learn and train**Hours :* Monday to Friday: 8am to 5pm - ability to work extra hours when needed Saturday: 8am to 1:30pm for the first year and then work when required *Salary:* R.00 - R.00.
