By clicking above you agree to the PNet Terms of Use .Read our full Data Protection Policy here .You may unsubscribe at any time from PNet emails and services.PermanentFull TimeEasy applyDuties & ResponsibilitiesA well-established and industry-leading local automotive component manufacturing company has an exciting opportunity for the suitable candidate to immediately join its logistics team in the Eastern Cape as MRP Controller (Materials Planning Controller).Please note that only candidates who meet the inherent requirements of this position will be considered.Position summary:The MRP Controller take full ownership of and execute all aspects of Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) for all locally- and internationally sourced materials/ components, including placing orders and making related logistical arrangements (local and international) with the aid of authorised Logistics services partners and relevant internal departments. The incumbent must also effectively manage the employers Supplier- and Logistics partner relationships to achieve optimal results.Responsibilities include:Receive customer demand releases electronically, complete a sanity assessment and resolve potential anomalies with customers.Complete the prescribed MRP process based on confirmed releases using the prescribed official software program.Analyze suggested order quantities against schedule agreement quantities after MRP and submit weekly releases to suppliers.Place authorised Purchase Orders on suppliers and service providers.Conduct Supplier meetings to discuss the current releases and/or critical parts requirements.Participate in customer/supplier teleconferences & daily maintain updated tracking schedules to ensure on-time ex works collection and in plant receipt.Monitor production progress in line with weekly requirements & shipping schedulesOrdering & controlling packaging for end parts.Maintain inventory levels to set company targets.Track ongoing performance against prescribed KPIs and achieve performance level against set target.Maintain a consistent flow of materials to support ongoing rolling shifts planned Production without interruptions or downtime.Develop, set-up & maintain safety stock levels to be held at supplier and monitor on a weekly basis.Highlight risks to management and implement measurable actions with suppliers to achieve and maintain required stock levels.Create & evaluate supplier step charts and verify any Increases/ decreases, followed by the appropriate actions and/or feedback to Internal or external suppliers.Evaluate supplier delivery performances daily/ monthly and submit to management for supplier ratings.Monitor product revision levels & part runouts, ensuring that breakpoints or engineering changes are clearly communicated and controlled to avoid obsolescence.Monitor new product introduction by customers and ensure sufficient lead-times is provided to suppliers to support an uninterrupted and on-time launch.Avoiding premium freight on-costs for inbound supply chains.Interaction and participation with interdepartmental customer teams (Customer liaisons, production planner, Engineering) to ensure stock and planning are managed effectively.Checking and analyzing inventory accuracy; reporting anomalies to management for correction authorization.Create and maintain critical lists on critical stock items.Create and maintain management reports as requiredEnforce suitable material handling and storage practices ensuring material preservation and safetyEnsure the protection of confidential business - and trade information.Adherence to Business Operating Systems, including environmental protection guidelines of the employer.Adherence to- & compliance with all Health & Safety legislation in the workplace.Adherence to company procedures and work instructions as well as applicable local and international legislation.Qualification/ Experience:B.Eng. or B.Sc. in Industrial- , or Mechanical Engineering orB.Sc. Statistics / Mathematics orB.
