Job Title: IT Data Analyst IIILocation: Carlsbad, CA (Remote) - Proximity to the Carlsbad, CA site and a hybrid site/home schedule is preferred. Possibility of % remote -- West Coast (PST) time zone preferred.The Data Analyst will bring data from various sources together into reports and dashboards to support critical management decisions with effective analysis and visualization. This includes a full ETL process of accessing a variety of sources, data transformation, use of data storage systems such as databases, data warehouses and data lakes, report generation / visualization, analysis, communicating insights with business leaders and educating users.The work will focus on cross-functional KPIs, including commercial sales, web analytics, supply chain, operational manufacturing, distribution, IT operations, CAS / Customer Experience and other critical business activities.Key Responsibilities:Requirements Understanding: Consolidation and understanding of business needs and goals to translate requirements into successful designs and data solutions.Data Architecture: Development and maintenance of robust data architecture and ETL solutions. Extract, transform and integrate data from multiple internal and external data sources. Develop and implement procedures for data validation and quality control of reports and queries.Data Modeling: Develop and maintain data frames, performance dashboards, and scorecards through database management tools, data transformation, and business intelligence platforms (e.g., Power BI, AWS, SQL, DB Visualizer, MS Office Suite)Analytics: Collect, aggregate and validate data for review.Data Visualization: Design, implement, and embed reports and visualizations into applications. Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards to provide actionable information to the business at a divisional and business unit level.Documentation: Develop training materials, ER diagrams, dataflow, KPI definitions, and source system ETL documentation.Communication: Present and explain analysis, and provide live training on how to use data solutions developed.Frequent contact internally with cross-functional teams in division Leadership, and externally with Data and Technology vendors (AWS, Microsoft Power BI Support Teams)Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement.Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:Strong technical background, including data storage / transformation experience with SQL, Python, AWS Cloud, and BI reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)Working knowledge of ERP, Data Warehouse, Data Lake, Modeling, and Schema DesignsStrong analytical, critical thinking and organizational skills, detail orientation and interpersonal skillsUnderstand and develop complex processes that utilize multiple inputs and data sources to transform information into a user-friendly reportComfortable with large amounts of data and able to identify key trends and variances and summarize with a high degree of accuracyAble to multi-task. Bring a strong sense of customer service; a strong responsiveness ethic and a sense of urgency and a drive for accurate resultsClear and effective written and verbal communication with all levels in the divisionBachelors Degree or greater in Business Intelligence, Business Analytics, Information Management, Statistics or Qualitative Analysis preferred
