Manager: Ran And Environmental Maintenance
Role Purpose:The G Band Manager: RAN and Environmental Maintenance role is based within the Technology Business Unit.The role of the Manager: RAN and Environmental Maintenance is to ensure optimal performance of the Radio Access Network and its environmental infrastructure (power, aircon, security, alarming etc) through corrective and preventative maintenance in order to achieve specific network availability performance and to retain quality standards.Your responsibilities will include:To ensure all network faults (both service affecting and non-service affecting) are attended and restored timeously and within the SLAs and KPIs as set out by the companyTo manage and control the outputs of the FFO contractorTo analyse the cause of faults and identify the measures required to eliminate the faults from reoccurringTo drive the execution of preventative/proactive upgrade activities required to improve network availabilityTo manage and drive restoration of faults or required upgrades caused and/or under the control of any 3rd parties (e.g. Eskom, towercos, other opcos etc)To manage the quality of the corrective and preventative passive and active maintenance activitiesTo manage quality acceptance from build into maintenance with regional staff and FFO contractorContinuous improvement initiatives for minimising OPEXTo ensure that staff & FFO contractor are trained on, aware of and issued with the correct Health and Safety information and equipment so as to ensure optimal performance within a safe working environment.To manage usage and maintenance of the generator fleet and efficient use of diesel utilisation by FFO ContractorTo control the usage of vehicles, generators and test equipment as per company policies and procedures.To ensure the effective management of staff in order to achieve the divisional targets.Implement and manage a per site inventory databaseEngaging and managing relationships with regional and national support functions (e.g. regional tech teams, ANOC, National Property, etc)Core competencies:RAN & RF TechnologiesTransmission technologiesMaintenance practicesEnvironmental technologies (power, aircons, alarming, security)Health and Safety PC applications Company products and services Network TopologyThe ideal candidate for this role will have:Matric / Grade 12 (Essential)Minimum 3 years National Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering(Essential)Min 8+ years experience in general network maintenance, Radio Maintenance & Transmission, Network Performance Management & Project Management3 years in coordinating across various stakeholders2-3 years Environmental knowledge & experience (Essential)2-3 years operational and people management experience in the relevant environment (Essential)Closing date for applications: 26April The base location for this role is Century City, Cape TownThe Companys approved Employment Equity Plan and Targets will be considered as part of the recruitment process.
