Sales Engineer – Generators

My client in the generator industry is looking for a Sales Engineer to join their team in Cape Town.The main purpose of this position is to develop strong new relationships with customers and to bring in enquiries, follow-up on quotations and successfully negotiate orders as well as maintain existing customer relationships and to develop new ones.Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:Sales:Direct selling to customers and generating new sales leads.New sales include: – Generators, Generator Diesel Services, Repair/Refurbishment Services, Generator Technical Services (Upgrades) and Parts.Visit assigned customers according to planned calling schedules.Prepare budgets, estimated potential and planned profitability per customer.Actively promoting the sales of Generators to existing customers and researching new market opportunities.Obtain enquiries, prepare quotations and follow up to conclusion.Reports:Submit a monthly sales report.Maintain an updated customer data base.Obtain information on competitors’ products, pricing policies and business strategies.General:Assist with technical queries.Assist with product launches, technical presentations and trade shows.Attend regular Sales and Projects meetings.REQUIREMENTS:Matric.Formal electrical qualification – A recognised Electrical Trade is essential.Electrical Diploma or N3 qualification will be advantageous.Experience in Generators is essential.Experience in the sales field.Experience in understanding how MV installations work will be advantageous.Computer literacy, specifically MS. Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and WordA legal driver’s license.An understanding of Health and Safety on construction sites and industrial premises is keyPosition requires out of town travel
