Our prestigious Client is looking for a Procurement Advisor to join their ever-growing team on a full time, permanent basis.
As a Procurement Specialist you will provide advice and lead on all regulated and non-regulated procurement activities for a wide range of works, goods and services within Infrastructure Services such as buildings, car parks, mechanical and electrical plant/equipment ensuring the company continues to comply with public procurement legislation.
The successful candidate will work closely with Operational and Corporate staff to co-ordinate and plan procurement activities. Additionally, you will expertly co-ordinate, lead and execute the end-to-end procurement process from strategy development, tender preparation, publication and evaluation, through to contract award.
As the Procurement Advisor You will provide Infrastructure Services expertise within the Procurement Team to support a more strategic approach to buying.
Desirable requirements
Member of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS) qualification or working towards
Knowledge of working with procurement and Scottish Government tools, particularly relating to Sustainable Procurement
Working knowledge and understanding of forms of contract other than NEC e.g. FIDIC, JCT, IET
Strong working knowledge of MS Office systems (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Sharepoint and ideally Project)
Essential requirements
Demonstrate experience in developing robust commodity strategies reflecting market conditions and strategic objectives through to the award of contracts
Experience of high value complex procurement activities
Working knowledge and understanding of NEC model contract suite
Understands, carries out and implements risk assessments and control measures
Coaches and supports colleagues and team members
Working background in projects and construction
