Lead Production Planner

Expleo Group are seeking a Lead Production Planner for one of the UKs most luxurious and prestigious automotive manufacturer. This is a 6 month fixed term contract role, where you will have responsibility for leading the production Schedule creation, and execution across all of our clients production facilities.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Liaise with Sales & other related Departments to ensure production plan/PTS reflects customer requirements.

Create mass production build schedule.

Allocate customer orders into vehicle slots in the production schedule ensure delivery dates are met, supply lead times respected, production constraints are not broken and level demand where possible.

Manage forecast schedule in the systems in line with Sales requirements.

Ensure planning systems are accurately maintained.

Manage the sales order amendment process to ensure changes do not impact on production or existing supplier deliveries.

Manage model year run out and run-in planning.

Liaise with Launch Team for the scheduling of Product Development cars within Production schedule.

Ensure successful production schedule completion & control.

Drive Production to focus on Build to Sequence

Manage all related production control data to maintain smooth flow & promote continuous improvement.

Ensure the correct cars are PTS to support Sales targets and car shipping.

Ensure Working Capital / work in progress is optimised across all manufacturing facilities.

Lead communication sessions with relevant areas of the business (Supply chain / Production / Launch) in relation to factory planning & constraints management.

Create and manage key metric dashboards for use by the business to manage throughput targets and constraints tracking.

Lead improvement activities and drive to improve KPIs.

Reflect learnings to New Model scheduling to improve Launch activity.

Support / lead any other related tasks to maintain or improve production scheduling & execution.

Qualification & Experience:

Experience in vehicle or production planning, ideally in the automotive industry (production).

An awareness of Aston Martin Production System / Lean Manufacturing would be an advantage.

Ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy, together with the ability to work accurately and efficiently, taking resourceful action during periods of considerable pressure.

Computer Literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel essential.

The ability to create & use business intelligence tools such as Power BI / SSRS / Domo / Birst including writing SQL queries would be preferable.

Degree or Higher diploma qualified or equivalent preferable.

Full clean driving licence
