Traffic Planner

Juice are working with a well-established logistics company who need support in their planning department.

Job Summary The Traffic Planner is responsible for utilizing the fleet of vehicles under their control as efficiently as possible. They must ensure on time delivery, meeting the requirements of the customer and maintaining an efficient operation.

Monday Friday:

Week 1 - 6am to 4pm

Week 2 - 8am to 6pm

And every 4th Saturday a few hours in the morning

1 hour lunch break

£27k per annum

Location Castleford

Temp to Perm role 12 weeks through Juice

Duties & Responsibilities:

Ensure safe, legal and effective planning and running of a fleet of vehicles and drivers.

Plan inbound and outbound deliveries and collections to ensure that customer service is achieved.

Issue appropriate paperwork to Drivers at the beginning of shift. Ensure that completed paperwork is collected from Driver upon completion of each shift (brief/debrief)

Liaise with internal Customer Service Department in order to establish customers requirements.

Liaise with Warehouse to ensure the adequate provision of trailers for deliveries and collections

Ensure that all Transport systems are updated accurately and in real time as and when changes occur throughout the shift.

Accurately input manual customer orders into the system.

Maintain regular communication channels with Drivers throughout shift and identify any issues that may affect the agreed delivery time.

Communicate any issues that may affect the agreed delivery time to relevant customer though the established channels.

Liaise with Transport office staff regularly throughout the shift in order to ensure that any amendments to routes etc are communicated immediately.

Ensure that all associated paperwork is completed accurately and in a timely manner.

Conduct a detailed handover from day to night shift. Ensure that all relevant issues from the previous shift are reviewed and documented.

Remain focused on providing an excellent level of customer service.

Develop and maintain excellent communication channels with all relevant WHM depots.

Carry out any other duties deemed relevant by Management.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

Experience of working within a busy Transport Office.

Ability to communicate effectively at all levels when dealing with Managers, Drivers and Customers.

Excellent customer service skills.

Sound geographical knowledge.

The ability to prioritise own workload based on the changes that occur with planned routes

A good working knowledge of current computer programmes such as Word, Excel, Outlook.

The ability to maintain a high level of performance whilst working under pressure.
