Purchasing Assistant

An international manufacturing company based in Wallsend are looking for a Purchasing Assistant familiar in SAP to join them on a temporary basis for 8-12 weeks.

Job Role

The role of the Purchasing Assistant is to support the Procurement Manager, manage and coordinate administrative duties in an efficient and effective manner to ensure continuous operations, maximum value for money and optimisation of Working Capital.

  • Validate Purchase Requisitions, Create Purchase Orders and follow up on entire PO process
  • Maintain Material and Vendor data
  • Plan, coordinate and manage the flow of materials and information to meet operational goals
  • Monitor KPIs for escalation to the Purchasing Controller
  • Support Procurement Manager with administration tasks and various ad-hoc duties


  • Experience in the use of ERP systems, specifically SAP so you can hit the ground running
  • Organised, self-starting, responsible and flexible
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Office
  • Good communication skills

The role is Monday to Friday working 37 hours per week.
