MTrec recruitment have partnered with our bespoke manufacturing client in the search for a talented and motivated Buyer. The company are leading organisation within their sector and are offering a 1-year fixed term contract to the successful applicant. The job you will do:
- Sourcing of new parts, suppliers, or sub-contractors when the need arises in-line with company policies and procedures.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate purchasing records/data and pricing in the system.
- Responsible for the preparation and processing of purchase orders and documents in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure supplier OTIF and monitor performance of suppliers in terms of delivery and quality.
- Ensure P/Order release & rescheduling according to changes in demand indicated in LEAN.
- Liaise with the Finance Department with problematic invoices or discrepancies to ensure resolution.
- Issue requests for quotations and select best source consistent with cost, quality and delivery requirements.
- Handle correspondence concerning over-shipments, delivery shortages, changes in quantity, delivery dates, and prices and report such changes to the interested parties in a timely manner as required.
- Act as a liaison between suppliers and involved departments to resolve procurement related problems.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate records/data and pricing in the system.
- Liaise with the Finance Department with problematic invoices or discrepancies to ensure resolution.
- Handle correspondence concerning over-shipments, delivery shortages, changes in quantity, delivery dates, and prices, and report such changes to the interested parties in a timely manner as required.
- Assist in raising and processing non-stock purchase order requisitions when required in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Providing relief cover in other departments when workload requires.
- Stock checks and providing telephone switchboard cover.
- Additional administrative duties as and when required.
About you:
- Ideally you will have purchasing or procurement experience within a manufacturing or similar environment.
- Must be competent in Microsoft Excel, good telephone manner, good literacy and numeracy, confident dealing with people externally and internally.
- Able to effectively work with a range of suppliers and sub-contractors.
- Happy to join a company on a 1-year fixed term contract.
- Strong Administration skills.
