Domestic Facilities Manager

Our client have an exciting opportunity to join thier team as a Domestic Facilities Manager. You will join on a full-time, permanent basis, and will be based at The William Harvey Hospital in Ashford. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of up to £36,771 per annum.

About the role:

As a Domestic Facilities Manager, you will have the day-to-day operational responsibility as the main interface and point of contact for the Domestic and Housekeeping staff on site.

You will support the Head of Facilities Solutions in setting the annual budget requirements, overall expenditure and identifying overspends and act as Deputy for the Head of Facilities Solutions as required. This role will also be part of the On Call out of hours team and will be required to work weekends and nights when necessary.

Your responsibilities as the Domestic Facilities Manager will include:

  • Ensuring cleaning and Housekeeping responsibilities are carried out to consistently high standards, meeting the Trust requirements as well as all regulatory requirements
  • Managing a large team of staff including team leaders, providing various aspects of services to EKHUFT on a 24/7 basis
  • Responsible for the Cleaning and Housekeeping staff to ensure contract service compliance in accordance with efficient and effective service delivery and national guidelines and standards
  • Reviewing, analysing and authorising the ordering of new equipment and supplies ensuring sufficient kit is on-site
  • Managing the full range of human resources management issues as appropriate including absence, performance, initial investigation and first-line disciplinary processes, and personal and professional development of staff, and authorising payroll
  • Establishing and reviewing working procedures within each area to ensure relevant legislation is fully met
  • Liaising with customers and senior managers of the Board and external parties to ensure the agreed level of service is being delivered to the standards required and identifying gaps
  • Analysing data on service delivery and performance providing reports for the Head of Facilities Solutions and Director of Facilities Solutions as appropriate

What the company are looking for in their ideal Domestic Facilities Manager:

  • Educated to a Diploma, working towards Degree Level or equivalent experience is desirable
  • Experience in managing cleaning services in a large public organisation; ideally the care environment
  • The previous management of a large team of staff including responsibility for absence, performance, recruitment and performance etc or having a regular involvement at a supervisory level
  • Knowledge of the safe use of equipment and systems following guidelines of HACCP
  • Knowledge of lifting and handling procedures
  • Knowledge of National Cleaning Standards and BICS
