HR Manager

HR Recruit is currently seeking an experienced HR Manager for a newly created hybrid role based in Uxbridge. The organisation is in the industrial sector and is an SME in the UK although part of an international business. Reporting into the Finance Director this is a fantastic opportunity to set up the HR function in this growing organisation. In parallel you will start preparing the complete HR set-up of our new production factory (250 employees) for manufacture in Shepton Mallet/Somerset.

Role responsibilities

  • Act as first point of contact for all Human Resources queries throughout the employees life cycle and provide general administrative support (eg. visa applications, contracts and onboarding)
  • Develop and implement processes, policies & procedures, supporting HR- systems and ensure a legally compliant HR administration
  • Develop recruitment strategies for the personnel required for the new factory in Somerset
  • Provide guidance on areas such as performance reviews, absence management, leave, grievance etc.
  • Set up and implement Training and Employee Development activities
  • Implementation and monitoring of contractually agreed project requirements (Skills, Employment and Education) and prepare quarterly HR data reports
  • Initiate recruitment and education initiatives and liaise with Schools, Colleges and Universities
  • Development and implementation of apprenticeships and graduate programmes
  • Supports Management to perform induction/onboarding of new hires
  • Support Business and HR projects and liaise with Group HR to ensure compliance with organisational policy and procedures

Person Specification

  • A minimum of 5 years' relevant HR experience,
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of UK employment law.
  • Self-motivated, able to multi-task, prioritise and work accurately.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships and gain respect of all levels within the business.
  • Hands on and practical approach to problem solving.
  • Flexible and capable of working with multiple projects at the same time.
  • Confident, resilient and enthusiastic.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate at various levels.

There is the opportunity to work from home for 2 days per week. The salary is £45,000-£55,000 (depending on experience) plus car allowance.
