Days & Hours: Minimum of 20 hours a week on a rolling Rota, 2 shifts weekly, to include alternate Saturdays. Working day is usually 8.00am to 6.00pm.

About this client/child:
Sam aged 12 enjoys music, films and games. He is a lovely cheerful and happy young man who lives at home with his caring family and a small team of staff, including registered nurses. Sam has profound physical and learning disabilities and requires care in all aspects of daily living. He has a tracheostomy in place and is fed via a PEG. Sam also has epilepsy and visual and hearing impairments. He is non-verbal and very susceptible to infection. Sam does not go to school but has speech and language and physiotherapy at home.

Overview of role:
We are looking for an experienced Support Worker to help with the care of Sam. The family manages his care at home but require additional support with all aspects of his daily life. The role will include supporting Sam with his personal care, bathing, assisting with feeds, therapy activities, play and learning in the family home under the supervision of his nurse and parents. Candidates will need their own transport to get to work but there is no requirement for driving Sam. A minimum of 20 hours weekly worked on a Rota basis to include alternate Saturdays. There will be the opportunity to pick up additional hours for sickness and holidays. Rates offered are £14.00 gross weekdays and £16.00 gross weekends. There is a dedicated staff area, with a shower and kitchen.
