The role of a children and families social work is to in the simplest terms ensure families are held together and maintain healthy relationships. This is done by evaluating and assessing risks to those in the family, typically young children. They ensure that proper intervention is carried out and potentially securing alternative accommodation for individuals.
Some responsibilities include but are not limited too
Carrying out assessments on families to determine next courses of action
Allow individuals equal access to statutory social care
Develop relationships with individuals within framework and legislation to ensure the best care is offered
Co-ordinate and liaise with other teams and agencies to ensure proper courses of action are taken
