Age UK York is a well-respected local charity which makes a positive difference to older people of York by providing help and services for them and their families/carers. The Deputy Manager will be working in our Bridge the Gap team to ensure older people receive high quality care at home.
An exciting opportunity for experienced Care professional to join a growing team with an emphasis on providing high quality domiciliary care in the community. This is a full-time position. We are looking for people who put the clients first and have a drive to continue their career in the care sector.
Pay: £25,000 per annum plus £20.00 per day on call
Location: York and surrounding area
Hours: 35 hours per week to be worked flexibly over 7 days.
The Role
The Deputy Manager will:
Key Responsibilities
The Deputy Manager will oversee the delivery of high-quality care and support to older people in York
The Deputy Manager will line manager care staff, carrying out spot checks, training and inducting them and ensuring they deliver care which puts the older person at its heart
Supporting the Bridge the Gap Manager, when required, with ensuring the service is delivered in line with all CQC regulations

About you
To be considered for this role you will need:
A Level 4 qualification in health and social care or equivalent, or willingness to work towards this qualification
Significant experience working in a social care setting
An understanding of what excellent understanding of working with older people with frailty, dementia or who are blind or partially sighted, sight loss or are D/deaf or hard of hearing. Providing a commitment to delivering high quality care
Understanding of performance managing of staff
Recent experience of handling safeguarding issues
Strong organisational skills
A driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes
