Electrical Electronics Engineer

Here at TPA we are very excited to be able offer the position of Electronics/Electrical Enginee.

Main purpose of job

To ensure that we maintain its position as the leading provider of Cryo-SEM preparation chambers and EM coaters by developing new products, in both Bench-top coaters and Cryo-EM. A new position has been created to meet increased demand for new product development (NPD) with a focus on working with electron microscope manufacturers to develop integrated products.

Reports to: Engineering Manager

Responsible for: Design and development of new product technologies and new product development

Interacts with: Commercial, Production, Service departments and microscope manufacturers

Role and Responsibilities

The Electronics/Electrical Engineer will be responsible for design and development of a broad range of new products for Cryo-EM sample preparation.

Tasks will include:

  • Work as part of NPD teams to design and develop electrical/electronic solutions, meeting project timescales.
  • Liaise with Sales, Marketing and OEM customers to define user interface needs and document them in technical requirements.
  • Design both analogue and digital electronic systems.
  • Identify suitable hardware design solutions and take responsibility for their interface and operation
  • Software and firmware development across a range of products. Defect analysis, debugging and problem solving. Configuration management and version control
  • Programming experience to cover a wide range of communication protocols.
  • Write test specifications for both development and Production.
  • Design to meet rohs, Low Voltage Directive and EMC Directive requirements.
  • Compliance analysis and testing to RoHS, Low Voltage Directive, EMC and any other applicable directives

The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the organisation and the overall business objectives of the organisation.

Performance Measurement

  • Successful completion of new product development projects, on-time and within budget.
  • Concise, detailed and accurate reporting of results, future forecasting of requirements and departmental KPI's as required by senior management.
  • Ability to meet customer expectations and to maintain our established reputation for excellence.
  • Ability to ensure that all established administrative routines and records are kept accurately and up to date.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Degree or HND in Electronics or Electrical Engineering or similar discipline.
