Finishing Operative

Staffline currently recruiting for one of Europe's largest large format print manufacturers in the UK, delivering Print Excellence since 1976 who are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of print technology and providing customers with the best opportunities to deliver their print campaigns,
from creative conception, right through to installations and fulfillment.

Based at The Avenue Industrial Park, on the outskirts of Cardiff, site is easily commutable
and conveniently located in Pentwyn, just a 5-minute drive from the A48M / M4 motorway
with free on-site staff parking

Your Time at Work

- Source materials required for the finishing/packing operation.
- Undertake all aspects of work processes relating to the cutting, rolling and packing of
printed items.
- Operation of finishing equipment (following completion/sign-off of internal on-the-job training).
- Ensure all quality checks are carried out as per company procedure and working
practices
- Assist the team in problem solving.
- Help with daily and weekly maintenance as specified.
- Understand and interpret paperwork such as job cards.
- Follow approval processes including first off approvals (either full scale or mini
proofs) ensuring they are signed and dated.
- Assist with the completion of relevant paperwork such as handover sheets.
- Confirm each job has a count sheet which must be signed at the end of each line.
- Keep the work area clean and tidy at all times in accordance with Health & Safety
guidelines
- Clearly label and identify products, materials and waste.
- Report any deviations relating to the job card and/or materials.
- Complete relevant quality checks in accordance with Gardner's process.
- Observe all production processes and inspect products to verify conformance to
specifications.
- Report any breakdown, defects or rejections to the appropriate Manager.

- Experience of working within a packing/finishing/print environment is desirable,
however, applications are welcomed from candidates with a genuine interest in
working within the print industry.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented, ability to multi-task and work to tight deadlines.
- Demonstrate personal time management and people skills.
- Using logic and reasoning to identify solutions to problems.
- Fluent in English Language (oral and written)
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts

Key Information and Benefits

The current working pattern operates on a 12-hour shift basis over a two-week period
(rotating including day and night shifts).
Week 1 - 6am-18:00pm (Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
Week 2 - 6am-18:00pm (Wednesday and Thursday)
