An opportunity for an Engineering Planner to join an Internationally established manufacturer of Construction materials has arisen within Cwmbran, Wales.
You will be joining an established manufacturing facility who are an industry leader with consumer brands recognised around the world. Working closely with the Engineering Manager you will be employed to maximise the operational efficiency of the plant and maintenance schedules.
Your duties will involve coordinating and planning internal maintenance schedules and routines by utilising outsourced human resources, preparing material needs and coordinating machine availability with other departments.
Planning and preparation site work to ensure best possible time coordination and manufacturing efficiency.
Managing all maintenance requests and prioritising workload.
Creating daily and weekly plans to prioritise and communicate effectively.
Ensure all materials, tools and procedures are planned before the day of work.
Define and maintain maintenance KPI's and ensure communication is communicates with the Continuous Improvement manager.
Ensure all contractors and resources are in order to achieve planned jobs to complete required maintenance tasks on time and within budget.
Overseeing all areas of facility management.
Ensuring all parts, materials and contract purchases follow procedure with the right involvement of the purchasing department for best possible cost negotiation.
Working closely with the Stores team and Engineering team to ensure workplace organisation standards are kept and help define the right stock levels and lead times.
Develop and manage the maintenance planning KPIs by using the measures to drive performance and team behaviours.
Review all maintenance requirements and notifications on daily basis using an SAP system. Creating work orders (preventive, corrective and condition monitoring) to accept charges and close when complete.SAP engineering administration, supporting creation and amendments of Pos and workflow resolution.
Establish and maintain equipment parts catalogue, equipment history, storeroom, min./max. levels and coordinate with central shops. Provide feedback to stores so right levels can be established to identify critical spares and inventory.
Working closely with Operations throughout lifecycle of work orders and report delays and scope changes.
Maintain integrity of Preventive Maintenance program, i.e., checklists, frequency, compliance, and schedules by working closely with the maintenance technicians. Promoting continuous improvement of the maintenance plan proposing changes when required.
Prepare weekly schedule and facilitate weekly meetings assigns work requests needing planning and materials to planning backlog.
Identify recurring maintenance problems and maintain key performance indicators for department by establishing a trigger point for decision making.
Managing the maintenance budget understand its requirements. Creating reports to track labour and materials. Ability to identify trends and report them to management
Ability to achieve the required production outputs, and production function targets, while developing an environment of sustainable improvement in terms of maintenance planning and preparation.
Proven track record in leadership without anu direct reports and building a healthy professional relationship with all departments.
Providing excellent communication, with clear prioritisation, whilst ensuring the maintenance craftsmen are empowered in taking ownership for their work. Ensuring the full availability of the site assets in achievement of the production and maintenance targets.
You will be required to work with both internal and external stakeholders including the Manufacturing Team, Technical Team, Continuous Improvement Team, HSSE Team and Purchasing Team.
Previous experience using SAP or any CMMS system will be advantageous in this role along with previous experience achieving set production outputs and building internal inter-department relationships.
Additional experience would include experience in a Planning position within a Manufacturing or Engineering environment along with an understanding of maintenance schedules and continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will receive a full time, Permanent contract of employment along with full company benefits package including 7.5% pension, 33 days annual leave (25+8 bank holidays), flexi-time and company bonus.
Your contracted hours of work in this position will be 08:00 - 16:00 however there is flexibility around these hours that can be offered by the employer.
