Cad-Cam Engineer

Elevation Recruitment Group are pleased to be working with a leading South Yorkshire based Aerospace manufacturer with the recruitment of a CAD/CAM engineer, a newly created role due to recent success and future growth plans.

This is a key role for the business, reporting into the lead engineer and supporting across all areas of CAM programs; engineering drawings and resolving machining production issues whilst delivering projects across NPI and CI.


This CAD/CAM Engineers duties & responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

-Curation of CAM programs from drawings through to program manuals
-CAM simulation, verifying programs before use on machinery
-Curation of 2D drawings, bill of material incl. fixture and assembly drawings
-Support shopfloor for machining with programming, CMM, grinding and laser
-Promote a culture of continuous improvement
-Support all aspects of NPI and CAPEX projects
-Analyse data; identification of quality and engineering issues and make recommendations for change through effective root cause analysis and corrective action
-Support all communications across the department and wider operations; liaising with commercial to deliver customer requests
-Ensure Health & Safety is paramount throughout, conduct regular risk assessments and accident investigations promptly where engineering input is required


Elevation's Design & Projects team are keen to speak with candidates that meet the required skills and role profile:

-HNC or higher in an Engineering or Manufacturing discipline
-Experienced in the use of Siemens NX6-12
-Significant experience in manufacturing or similar industry with an understanding of CNC, Turning and Milling with the use of DNC outputs
-Demonstrable experience generating and interpreting 2D drawings as per ASME Y14.5M
-Proven experience delivering CI and cost reduction projects
-Programming skills in 3 & 5 Axis CNC experience and CMM (PC-DMIS)
-Software experience in PLM / PDM, Tool library, drawing revision version control
-Fully proficient in the use of MS Office packages and MS Projects
-Working experience of manual and CNC machines (Mazak, Dosan, Hermle, Mandeli)
-Keen eye for detail and ability to work as part of a larger organisation / cross functional team
