Job Aim

You will be responsible for delivering and developing functional skills resources for young people and adults engaging in apprenticeship programmes. You will be required to support and guide a caseload of learners to achievement by demonstrating Maths and English skills, knowledge and a genuine desire to progress your learners through their training. You should hold a teaching qualification or similar and knowledge of current Assessment Strategy Guidelines. You are required to play an active role in all team meetings and standardisation sessions implemented by the organisation and their partners. You will be responsible for the timely delivery and achievement of all learners functional skills to ensure successful outcomes in line with contractual requirements. You must submit all paperwork at the required timescales to meet our quality assurance processes and contractual requirements and also ensure candidate information is stored correctly and meets GDPR/ Data Protection Act. You are expected to regularly maintain your own CPD with the support of the quality coordinator and comply with all company policies and procedures. You will also facilitate learning session with colleagues to support them in their understanding of functional skills to meet their learner needs.

Key Duties

Using your sound knowledge of current Teaching and Assessment Strategy Guidelines, play an active role in all team meetings and standardisation sessions implemented by the organisation

Responsible for the timely delivery and achievement of maths and English to ensure successful outcomes in line with contractual requirements.

Submit learner progress information at the required timescales to meet our quality assurance processes and contractual requirements

Ensure candidate information is stored correctly and meets the Data Protection Act and the organisation GDPR policy

Regularly maintain your own CPD

Comply with all organisational policies and procedures

  • Successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with job requirements, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Support the effective maintenance of learner data on our information systems
  • Undertake other duties as requested by the line manager in line with the grade remit and scope of the post.

Key Performance Indicators

Timely progression and achievement of your learners that ensure an 80% achievement rate

Maintain an 80% retention rate

Monthly completion and submission of detailed tracking sheet, together with learner evidence

Plan, support and evidence of 20% off the job training in line with ESFA requirements

Support learners to understand and respond to the monthly safeguarding brief (Essential Themes)

Quality improvement responsibility. Focus, plan, implement and evaluate all areas for improvement relative to the successful delivery of the companys funding contracts to meet the Education inspection framework

One day vocational competence update per year

CPD updates per month
